In praise of the very small notebook

They're exceptionally good companions for stolen golf pencils.

But here's the thing about golf pencils — you're supposed to give them back. You're not supposed to take those things.

A cautionary tale

I used to work at a golf course and it was part of the job description to chase golfers down to their car and ask for the pencils back. At least it was the policy until my friend Gerald got stabbed in the ear with a golf pencil. It disappeared so deep they never found it again.

If you did manage to get away from a country club with a tiny pencil — or you found some diabolical second way to acquire one — you should definitely be in the market for a very small notebook.
